— An Uber driver was killed and three others were injured when a driver drove a vehicle into a group of pedestrians in downtown Harrisburg on Friday, the Pennsylvania State Police said.
The accident was reported at about 3 p.m. on Route 5 in downtown Houston.
Investigators said the driver was a 27-year-old Texas man.
The driver, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police said the crash happened as part of an Uber service to Houston, where Uber is based.
The ride-hailing company said in a statement Friday that its drivers were on a trip to the city when they were approached by a group who was allegedly intoxicated.
Uber said the group then proceeded to run a red light, hit a curb and struck another vehicle before it collided with a bus, according to a police report.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the crash.
Investigators said there were no other passengers in the vehicle.
Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
